Deepend Your Yoga - Teacher Training Program
It’s not easy to become a yoga teacher at our school. Many yoga teachers today have done little more than an expensive three month course that pops out teachers like an industry. Our philosophy on becoming a yoga teacher stems from the traditional methods of mentorship, experience, support, philosophy and starting as a teacher very slowly, one class at a time with no goals or expectations of teaching.
About the Program
After a student gets to a certain place with their yoga where they are ready to commit body mind and soul to the art of yoga they come to Sam our senior teacher and ask to be trained. They then enter a traditional mentorship with Sam called “Deepen Your Yoga” where they assist him in classes for six months. Upon completion of this first aspect of our course they may be invited into our longer three-five year training program to become a teacher at our school. As well they volunteer some of their time towards cleaning and helping the school. They also study all aspects of yoga and related subjects. They may assist anywhere from a year to five years before they begin teaching and they continue to assist after they have started teaching. In the future they may also be required to do volunteer teaching e.g. for prisons or schools. At the end of this they are potentially a teacher of honor, ethics, truth, passion, and fun in yoga.
Who is this Training Available To?
Primarily our teacher training is for students who attend the Home of Yoga and have reached a point in their yoga both in depth and length of practice where we and they feel ready to deepen their experience. This could be after a year or two or it could be after five or six years of practice with us. It is important that anyone know that the initial six month program is available and fits into your lives (especially new mums who have many priorities). So when the six months turns into longer and the mum is raising a fantastic family and it might even take years or until her children are older before she is ready to teach that I find that I have a very fine dedicated teacher.
"I have completed a yoga training course elsewhere can I still do this course?"
Of course you can. First come along to our school and see if it feels right and then we can have a chat to see how it fits.
"I live far away, is there a way?"
Part of the course is written assignments and investigations and reading. We have done this with several students already. Then to get the practical completed they attendee our workshops in Bali or came and stay here in Perth for a period of time.
