“We are all just walking each other home” Ram Dass
Daily meditations, support in taking mindfulness into our daily life, reducing stress and enhancing wellbeing.
Our Mindful Living Program is a unique opportunity to commit to 2 months of living mindfully. Commitment involves a daily practice for a minimum of twenty minutes, a weekly class and three monthly workshops. You receive support for taking mindfulness into your daily life: eating, driving, working, walking, loving, communicating. Open the doorway to the skill of meditation and bringing full awareness to the present moment. Mindfulness is an essential skill for navigating the ups and downs of life and emotions that can for all of us be overwhelming at times. Mindfulness practice is not a fix and does not give answers. It does however help you move from the zone of automatic so many of us gravitate to. Regular practice reduces stress, helps us to experience life from a wider perspective, and strengthens our abililty to discern and problem solve. We begin to taste life, wonder, play, love and gratitude more fully and cultivate a whole new relationship with life.
“Our true Home is in the Present Moment….to live in the present moment is a miracle..peace is all around us in the world and in nature..and within us..in our bodies and our spirits..it is not a matter of faith it is a matter of practice” Thich Nhat Hanh
Be part of a Mindful Living Community:
This program is intended to facilitate a shared experience in mindful living where participants support each other in their journey. The facilitator Sydel Weinstein shares information, resources, personal experience and provides a loving context.
“The next Buddha will not take the form of an individual. The next Buddha may take the form of a community; a community practicing understanding and loving kindness, a community practicing mindful living. This may be the most important thing we can do for the survival of the Earth.” Thich Nhat Hanh
Who should do this training?
Mindfulness Training is for everyone. All of us are mindful at times and have the potential for mindful awareness. You do not have to be interested in Yoga necessarily. More on content and structure:
Mindfulness training is a basic life skill that everyone can benefit from. Worldwide, mindfulness is being taught in hospitals (particularly in the field of pain management), schools, prisons, workplaces and corporations, parenting centers, mental health and wellness centers and incorporated into sports training programs.
Considerable research is available to demonstrate the benefits of training – with gratitude to the pioneering work of Jon Kabat-Zinn and many others.
The art of mindfulness is the returning of our attention again and again to whatever is there for us in the present moment, non-judgmentally. It is a way of directly experiencing our body, the rhythms of our breath and our inner sense of being-ness. A way of witnessing our thoughts and feelings and the spaces in between. By listening and attuning in this way we can re-establish a whole new relationship with our self and bring a sense of unity to our body and mind. We can find a way of being at peace, of discovering a renewed sense of compassion and empathy towards our self, and others.
The practice of Mindfulness can be truly transformative and although in a sense simple takes effort and consistency this is why through time individuals have come together to create supportive Mindful Communities.

She is particularly excited about devloping ‘Mindful Yoga’ and also the intergration of mindfulness into all the work they do at the ‘Home of Yoga Healing and Wellness Centre’. The Family Nurturing Centre classes all have a component of mindfulness from the creation of ‘Mindfulness Based Attachment Parenting’ term classes, ‘Mindfulness Based Infant Massage’ Training to workshops for ‘Mindful Birthing and Parenting’. Sydel has created ‘The Mindful Home’ website currently in development and ‘The Mindful Home’ facebook page as an expression of this ongoing work. In process is the creation of on-line trainings for those who are unable to attend regular classes.
